The establishment of the strontium carbonate production unit, branded as Iranian Strontium Mining Industry (IMISCO), began in 2015. In this process, strontium and barium salts, including strontium carbonate, are synthesized from the minerals celestine and barite using a novel method developed by the Faramine Asia Mining Industrial Group, which has been a knowledge-based company since 2017. This production method was designed to achieve high-quality products that can compete with foreign products. Additionally, the method’s unique feature is that the quality of the final product is independent of the ore feed grade, allowing producers to use lower-grade feed materials.

For the first time in Iran, this high-purity product was manufactured by the Faramine Asia Mining Industrial Group. This knowledge-based product quickly captured a significant market share from predominantly Chinese competitors. A by-product of this process is liquid sodium sulfide, which was introduced for the first time in Iran by this company. The liquid sodium sulfide produced by this company has a concentration of 9% and is directly used in the flotation process of lead oxide ores.

The efficiency and high-grade results in the flotation process using liquid sodium sulfide demonstrate its good quality and economic viability. It is worth noting that this by-product is transported in tankers to nearby factories. For longer distances, the product is concentrated using specialized methods, increasing its grade to up to 30%.
