In 2018, the Faramine Asia Industrial Mining Group designed and produced the first industrial-scale Jameson flotation cell at Sadeed Zinc Smelting Company in Zanjan, Iran. This initial design represented an early model, with significant improvements made in subsequent generations. The flotation cell built by Faramine Asia competed against mechanical flotation cells from Denver and Sala over a three-month period. The Jameson flotation cell demonstrated superior performance and concentrate grades, achieving a 5 to 15 percent increase in efficiency and quality under various mineral processing conditions.

The Jameson flotation cell used in this project featured a circular Dunker arrangement with 12 Dunkers of 6 inches each. Despite its early design, its superior performance compared to other cells in the facility led to the immediate development of a larger cell. The new cell, incorporating 16 Dunkers of 8 inches, combined with the existing cell, enabled the processing of 200 tons per day of zinc ore with a concentration greater than 12 percent.

Challenges with this design led to the adoption of linear arrangements in subsequent generations of Jameson flotation cells. The experience from this project allowed for substantial advancements in addressing the issues associated with circular Dunker arrangements. Today, the ability to design these cells with higher capacity and reduced footprint is well established.
