This flotation unit was designed and constructed in 2019 by the Faramine Asia Industrial Mining Group for the Khaales Sazan Zinc Industries in Zanjan. The plant processes high- and medium-grade lead and zinc ores, with a capacity of 500 tons of dry solid material per day. Through the four-product flotation process, separate concentrates of oxidized lead, sulfide lead, oxidized zinc, and sulfide zinc are produced from the ore.

The flotation cells used in this project are of the Jameson Cell type, which were implemented for the first time in Iran at this facility. This unit is one of the largest flotation plants in the region and incorporates extensive industrial flotation automation. To optimize the process, various operational parameters such as air flow rate to the cells, froth depth, pulp feed flow rate to the cells, and the solid percentage in the ball mill are controlled and optimized using industrial flotation automation circuits and PLC systems.

Jameson Flotation Cell

The Jameson Flotation Cell is a type of pneumatic flotation cell. This cell eliminates the need for rotating components (such as electromotors and rotor-stators), significantly reducing wear and energy consumption in flotation units. Moreover, the Jameson Cell utilizes an innovative method for mixing air and pulp, resulting in the formation of extremely fine bubbles. These fine bubbles, due to their high surface area and carrying capacity, enhance the grade and recovery rate in the flotation process.
